This gorgeous specimen comes from the Bighorn River area of the Pryor Mountains in Southern Montana and features a smattering of compact, earthy-orange and salmon-pink fortifications across a creamy tan background. Some of the fortifications centers are filled with druzy sparkle, and one corner of this piece has a rich coating of garnet-like, druzy crystals in a deep orange-red hue. Absolutely gorgeous! What is debatably more common to see in this material are large agate bands forming one central fortification; this specimen is quite unique in that a mass of flame-like fortifications are shown in one seemingly unified conflagration across the scene, causing it to resemble more of a complex painting than your typical agate, and in a unique color combination to boot. Spectacular! A fine specimen of a rare American material. The host rock is visible in a band to one side in this specimen.
This is a rough, unpolished specimen. Please observe images closely for flaws, as some degree of that is normal. Pictured wet and dry.
