This material comes from Western Australia and gets its name from its distinctive peanut-shaped boreholes, which were created by clams that ate sections of the wood before it petrified (the boreholes filled with silica to petrify over many millions of years). Luckily for lapidaries and collectors this particular petrification history is not only fascinating but beautiful! A rare a unique petrified wood. This piece is faced on one side.
This is a rough, unpolished specimen. Please observe images closely for flaws, as some degree of that is normal. Pictured wet and dry.
