Dunes Jasper Slab
Dunes Jasper Slab
This jasper comes from Durango, Mexico. I have only seen it on the market once, and it was old-stock rough, so it’s very doubtful that the material is still actively mined. It shows an intricate, bubbly matrix somewhat similar to dinosaur bone but with a looser structure. The circular and ovoid shapes within the dense matrix periodically break loose into singular orbs. Somewhat reminiscent of Dinosaur Gem Bone, but with a looser structure in a richer, desert palette. An absolutely fantastic piece to have if you love a matrix and/or obscure materials.
This is a rough, unpolished slab. Please observe images closely for flaws, as some degree of that is normal. Pictured wet and dry.
