Gary Green Larsonite Slab
Gary Green Larsonite Slab
This material is known by a variety of names, including Gary Green and Larsonite (for its discoverers, Gary McIntosh and Ray Larson); McDermitt Jasper, for its source location in McDermitt, Nevada; as well as Freedom Jasper, the name the current mine owner has given it. It’s thought to be a petrified bogwood, although recent analyses have apparently proven it to be a true jasper. At any rate, it’s characterized primarily by striations of olive-green and teal blue colors that sweep though the stone in lush, fluid strokes.
This is a rough, unpolished slab. Please observe images closely for flaws, as some degree of that is normal. Pictured wet and dry.
