Indian Blanket Jasper Slab
Indian Blanket Jasper Slab
Not to be confused with a sedimentary rock often referred to as “Indian Paint Stone” (which comes from the Mojave Desert in California), this jasper from southwestern Utah (near Enterprise) produces a broader range of colors and displays granulated pigmentation. This particular slab has a preponderance of deep blue-jean color segueing into violet and even into a few small areas of pink; it’s then interspersed with pops of goldenrod and mustard yellow on a creamy white background. Some of the patterns swirl like a sumptuous floral print. The rind of this end cut is showing plume-like formations and some of the most striking areas of color contrast. A gorgeous, solid jasper. No visible hairlines. Should polish up very nicely!
This is a rough, unpolished, end cut slab. Please observe images closely for flaws, as some degree of that is normal. Pictured wet and dry.
