This material is named for the small village it comes from on northern Buton Island (part of Sulawesi) in Indonesia. A newer discovery, it’s collected near ancient hot springs and has only been reaching the gemstone market in small quantities. It’s characterized by black, white, ochre-yellow to rust, and grey breccia, and it can also include dendrites. This slab displays a preponderance of dendritic contouring that delineate pools of light blue amid sections of subtly crystalized soft grey - these areas shimmer slightly in the light. A few small areas of iron yellow complete the scene.
This is a rough, unpolished slab. Please observe images closely for flaws, as some degree of that is normal. Pictured wet and dry.
