Beautiful petrified wood showing some areas of opalization, as well as a band of mostly sienna-colored ring striations, and a few areas resembling brecciation. Note that when wood is opalized, there is no color play; the mineraloid deposition is common opal - these areas are easiest to observe along the rind. Between the light, dark, and medium-hued sections of this slab, there are many opportunities for color contrasts when cutting for cabs. From Oregon.
This is a rough, unpolished slab. Please observe images closely for flaws, as some degree of that is normal. Pictured wet and dry.
