Silver Lace Onyx Slab
Silver Lace Onyx Slab
This material comes from the Calico Mountains of California’s Mojave Desert. It can contain minute amounts of silver, as the area it comes from was once famous for silver production (as well as gold); however, it was long ago determined not to contain enough silver to justify the labor and expense of extracting it. Silver Lace Onyx is characterized by white, grey, and honey-colored banding, as well as intermittent sprays of manganese dendrites, which can be black and sometimes silver.
This is a rough, unpolished, end cut slab. Please observe images closely for flaws, as some degree of that is normal. Pictured wet and dry.
Approximate measurements:
Weight: 233 grams
Height & Width: 4.46” x 2.24” at widest points
Depth: 0.87” to 0.34” - most of the slab is roughly 0.7” thick
