St. John's Flower Agate Slab
St. John's Flower Agate Slab
This is a fairly rare material that comes from a small area in St Johns, Arizona. It is said to be closed off to collecting. The predominately red and occasionally yellow smattering throughout are in deed reminiscent of cherry blossoms. Most of the background is a shade of light rose, with some sections darkening and then morphing to almost grey; a few black contours make their way into the scene as well. This material has a reputation for fractures due to blasting that happened near the dig site, and this piece does show some - the most obvious one runs across the bottom third on one side; however, the same line looks nearly healed on the opposite side. I would still work around it when trimming - doing so should be easy; lots of surrounding material to be had. Half-pound slab!
This is a rough, unpolished slab. Please observe images closely for flaws, as some degree of that is normal. Pictured wet and dry.
